At Andean Life Europe, we are committed to encouraging the production of healthy and natural foods while working with community-based organisations.
We carefully select like-minded producers to develop long-term partnerships to ensure we offer our customers high-quality products with full traceability.
We work with our partners at origins, where social investment in local farmers and local communities are aiming to help the transition from growing conventional cane into growing organic cane.
We provide the producers the access to the Buyers in Europe. We organise the logistics for their organic sugars and we aim to offer the added value back to them, that they cannot get onto their local domestic market .

Role in the sector: Fair Trade Partner
The Fair Trade Partner is the company or organization that buys products directly from the Production Operator as part of a fair trade relationship. As the first buyer in the supply chain, it plays a key role: it undertakes to guarantee a fair price, to contribute to the development fund and to respect forecast purchase volumes.
The Fair Trade Partner can also support his supplier through technical assistance, to strengthen his skills and sustainability.
It is the Fair Trade Partner who markets the ingredients under the Fair for Life label, ensuring a sustainable and responsible partnership.

Why get involved?
At Andean Life, fairness is one of our core values. That is why we hold both Fairtrade and Fair for Life certifications, which ensure that an additional premium is paid for every metric ton of sugar, benefiting farmers directly. We are also members of Sedex- a leading platform for ethical and sustainable supply chain management. While we work hard to match the right sugars to the needs of our customers, we are equally committed to ensuring that fair and socially responsible farming practices are upheld throughout the supply chain. To better understand and share the impact of these initiatives, we regularly visit our suppliers and the communities they support.
What is our impact?
During our regular visits to our producers at origins, we witness the benefits of the Fair Trade premiums, the farmers and/or the Communities receive.
We met with several families involved in sugarcane cultivation and saw the direct benefits that Fair Trade premiums have brought to their communities. These included water purification systems that provide safe drinking water, solar-powered street lighting, and drums to store biofertilizers. Most inspiring of all was the Sugar School initiative, which provides education for the children of sugarcane-harvesting families who migrate from other regions during the cane-crushing season. We also witness a medical centre being built through these premiums.
