| Impact, actions & engagements remarquables | | | GOIASA began its activities as an ethanol distillery, crushing its first harvest in 1991. In 1996 it initiated the production of cane sugar and in 1999 the conversion of the first sugar cane areas into organic production was underway. The year 2005 was a milestone for the history of the enterprise, inaugurating the generation of renewable electrical energy from bagasse and transmitting it to the neighboring region. Following its corporate philosophy that counts with the participation of its employees in the business administration, Goiasa relentlessly pursues integration with the community as well as environmental sustainability. The Fair Trade Committee democratically elected by employees leads the Goiasa Workers’ Association, managing and applying the resources sent as Fair Trade Premium. Socio-environmental evaluation identifies vulnerable groups in the community. The FFL Development Fund projects by targeting these groups, seek the empowerment of the program’s beneficiaries. | ||||
