Impact, special achievements & commitmentsEN/FR

The OHVN / HEN collaborative program began during the 2000/2001 campaign with a first order of 25 tonnes of organic sesame. The OHVN is a public administrative establishment reporting to the Ministry of Agriculture, it supervises producers from three administrative circles in Mali region. It supervises all agricultural products and aims to improve the living conditions of the supervised rural populations. It was in this context that he sought and found a commercial partner for the production, marketing and export of organic sesame. Since 2004 this production is subject to the double organic and fair trade certification which has become FFL. Currently two other products are added, including baobab and hibiscus seeds. An internal control system is set up at the level of each production area for the correct monitoring of the plots. To improve the internal control system and ensure the transfer of skills from producers and the management of the development fund, the Emile Noel Mali foundation was set up with a small entity in Bamako and 13 agricultural technicians in the field to support supervision of the OHVN on site. As part of the transfer of skills, a committee of actors made up of producers' representatives from all areas is being created. This committee is the spokesperson for producers and is already operational. The objective in the future is the transfer of trade negotiations.
