![]() | Impact, special achievements & commitments | ![]() | ![]() | The Organic Herb Trading Company was founded on organic principles in 1982 and remains the UK’s leading supplier of organic herbal ingredients. Among the first UK companies to achieve organic certification, OHTC was also the first to import organic and Fairtrade certified cocoa into the UK. More recently the company has contributed to the creation of the FairWild standard, and is proud to be the only UK wholesaler of FairWild herbs. The tangible spirit of the company is "we know that we’re nothing without our suppliers; we build our relationships on dialogue and transparency, and when things go wrong, we stick together". They protect their environment by composting herb waste, generating electricity through solar panels, capturing rainwater and by managing land organically. And they care about their staff, offering flexible working, health care and an organic grocery co-operative. | ||||
