Impact, special achievements & commitmentsNatural Habitats Americas strives to create positive change in three main areas: economic, social and environmental. For each category, special programs are developed to address the problems identified in the region. Some examples are: promotion of economic and employment opportunities, advice on agronomic and certification standards, as well as training for farmers, reforestation of bodies of water and protected areas, educational projects for young people such as soccer and dance schools, medical check-ups for our workers. , farmers and communities in areas of operation, etc. In 2020, the development funds associated with the fair trade supply chain of Natural Habitat Americas, were able to finance a seedling project to help with the purchase of seedlings to farmers in regions of Ecuador that have suffered from the disease of bud rot. oil palm (PC). Additionally, it financed a Tablets Project to help with the supply of tablets to the children of employees and of the community school who could not attend school due to the COVID-19 measures applied in the country. These development funds are managed independently, which means that all projects are designed and executed with the cooperation and participation of the communities involved.
