| Impact, special achievements & commitments | | | Origines Sarl, member of the Symrise group, sources 100 % sustainable raw materials with different groups of farmers. They support farmers' organisations in tackling the problems they face in securing high quality vanilla deliveries. With FCM, a cooperative of vanilla producers based in Cap Est, SAVA, Madagascar, they discuss the problems of cash flows, income diversification, access to essential services: health, education, water and environmental issues. Based on these discussions, they elaborated a phase program, starting by protecting income: health care insurance is paid by the cooperative to the vanilla producers, primary schools parents' associations are supported by an annual subsidy to cover some of the extra costs of teachers wages, restoration of the buildings, trees nursereies are set up to encourage farmers to plant endemic trees and regenerate their clove plantation. | ||||
