| Impact, special achievements & commitments | | | ASSUKKAR es una empresa agroindustrial fundada en 1995 en la zona de Turrialba (Caribe de Costa Rica). Se dedica al cultivo, industrialización y venta de la caña de azúcar y sus derivados, tanto certificados orgánicos como convencionales. Sus productos son integrales y sin refinar (tipo panela). Cuenta con más de 10 certificaciones de calidad, inocuidad, orgánicas (bajo diferentes normas internacionales), marca país, etc. Vende al mercado local costarricense y en mercados internacionales (Unión Europea, Norte América y Asia). La materia prima (caña de azúcar) la suple de 3 fuentes: • 250 hectáreas de caña certificada orgánica (NOP, JAS, UE) de fincas propias • 70 hectáreas de caña certificada orgánica, de pequeños productores independientes. • 250 productores independientes de caña convencional (no certificada orgánica), en diferentes localidades geográficas del cantón de Turrialba. | ||||
