Impact, special achievements & commitmentsStellar believes in creating and maintaining long-term relationships with the primary producers to insure that sustainable quality product be delivered to the buyers and that the standards of Fair for life be pulled in threw out the community.
The Central Joint Body consists of representatives of each estate. This Body administers and decides on Fair Trade premium usage. This is the Central Joint Body's main function. All previously disadvantaged workers that work within Stellar Winery Multi-Estate, through Stellar Empowerment Trust, hold a 26% share in Stellar Winery (Pty) Ltd. One of our main goals is the empowerment of our previously disadvantaged workers. For this purpose a share system has been developed through which 26% of the company shares are held by the workers. All permanent and temporary workers working for the estates under Stellar Winery Multi-estate are eligible for obtaining shares. The main goal of this programme is to uplift workers, make them part of the company through ownership and provide an option for retirement care, which is otherwise difficult to achieve due to the absence of reasonable pension funds in South Africa. In addition, several social projects have been carried out by us over the past years. Workers in the Multi Estate are also 26% shareholders in the recently purchased premises.

Fair trade premium is received on bottle sales. This premium goes directly to Stellar Empowerment Trust of which all workers in the Multi-estate are beneficiaries. And project such as the primary health care is funded. With Stellar Agri the farming arm of Stellar developing we look forward to see newly appointed workers of the community becoming apart of our family.
The producer/owner of the estate is compensated with prices higher than market related prices paid in the area. The cellar and producer decide on a right price to compensate both parties and then signs of the prices for the grapes of the year.
