| Impact, special achievements & commitments | | | EN/FR The Union of Groups of Producers of Shea Products of Comoé (UGPPK / COMOE), is a union which aims to transform shea kernels into shea butter. It is also responsible for the marketing of shea almonds and shea butter. It was created in 2009 and was aggregated in 2013. Thanks to the support of SOS Sahel in 2013, UGPPK / COMOE has a production, processing and marketing center for shea products such as shea almonds , shea butter in Bounouna. In 2016, the Union was made up of 24 grassroots groups of 933 members. In 2017 and 2018 it was made up of 27 groups of 964 members. Today, the UGPPK / COMOE has 10 grassroots cooperatives, 786 members and 60 employees (2 permanent and 58 non-permanent). The organs of the Union are: the GA, the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Commission. The Union has a production center made up of an administrative building, a shea butter production unit, a butter filtering unit, two storage stores (for almonds and butter), two drying areas, a water tower and three (03) certified organic shea parks. The Union has been involved in the certification of organic and fair trade products since 2016, it has been 4 years of experience in organic and fair trade certification, The products marketed are: shea almonds, organic shea butter. Use of the development fund: In 2017, the union benefited from a development fund amounting to 1,932,000 francs, in 2018 an FDD of 1,932,000 francs. For the use of these funds, the Union decided at the last general assembly for the distribution of Occitane orders, to accumulate the development Fund of several campaigns in order to have a consistent fund that will allow the Union to strengthen fair trade activities. These development funds will be used by the Union for the activity of reducing the environmental impacts linked to shea production (almonds & shea butter): o Investment in a semi-industrial butter unit or in mechanization equipment o Construction of improved stoves; o Construction of settling ponds; o Installation of a treatment and reuse system for production waste; o Acquisition of residue recovery equipment (briquetting machine, boiler, pyrolysis, roaster using residue, bio-digesters, manure pits recovering shea residue); The harvest of shea nuts goes from June to the end of August and the production of shea butter from October to February UGPPK / COMOE benefits from an intention to purchase organic shea butter from L'OCCITANE from (FRANCE) L’Union des groupements des productrices de produits de karité de la Comoé (UGPPK/COMOE), est une union qui a pour but de transformer des amandes de karité en beurre de karité. Elle se charge également de la commercialisation des amandes de karité et le beurre de Karité. Elle est créée en 2009 et a eu son agrégation en 2013. Grâce à l’appui de SOS Sahel en 2013, UGPPK/COMOE dispose d’un centre de production, de transformation et de commercialisation des produits de karités tels que les amandes de karité, le beurre de karité à Bounouna. En 2016, l’Union était composée de 24 groupements de base de 933 membres. En 2017 et 2018 elle était composée de 27 groupements de 964 membres. Les organes de l’Union sont : l’AG, Le Conseil d’Administration et la Commission de Surveillance. L’Union dispose d’un centre de production composé d’un bâtiment administratif, d’une unité de production de beurre de karité, d’une unité de filtrage de beurre, deux magasins de stockage (pour les amandes et le beurre), deux aires de séchage, un château d’eau et trois (03) parcs à karité certifiés biologiques. L'Union est engagée dans la certification des produits bio et équitables depuis 2016, cela fait 4 ans d'experience dans la certification bio et équitable, Les produits commercialisés sont : les amandes de karité, le beurre de karité bio. L’utilisation du fonds de développement : L’union a bénéficié en 2017 un fonds de développement d’un montant de 1 932 000 f, en 2018 un FDD de 1 932 000 f. Pour l’utilisation de ces fonds, l’Union a décidé lors de la dernière assemblée générale de répartition des commandes de l’Occitane, de cumuler les fDD de plusieurs campagnes afin d’avoir un fonds consistant qui va permettre à l’Union de renforcer les activités équitables. Ces fonds de développement vont servir l’Union à l’activité de réduction des impacts environnement liés à la production karité (amandes & beurre de karité) : o Investissement dans une unité semi-industriel de beurre ou dans des équipements de mécanisation o Construction de foyers améliorés ; o Construction de bassins de décantation ; o Installation d’un système de traitement et réutilisation des déchets de production ; o Acquisition d’équipement valorisation des résidus (briqueteuse, chaudière, pyrolyse, torréfacteur à utilisation de résidus, bio-digesteurs, fosses fumières valorisant les résidus du karité) ; La récolte des noix de karité va de juin à fin août et la production du beurre de karité d'octobre à février L'UGPPK/COMOE bénéficie d'une intention d'achat du beurre de karité biologique de la part de L'OCCITANE en provenance(FRANCE) | ||||
