TROCOP sarl has mainly been carrying out production and marketing activities since 2016 of certified organic shea kernels. The fair trade shea project arrives in addition from the 2019 campaign, and while participating in the development of the company, this project is part of a dynamic of fight against woman poverty at the same time as it contributes to the sustainable management of the environment. This project directly affects more than 800 women present in different villages including three (03) in this case Natéma, Sarfalaye and Samandeni in the department of Bama and two (02) others, Mê and Wapio, in the department of Péni, all in the Hauts-Bassins in Burkina Faso. A preliminary diagnosis made it possible to know the constraints and the needs of the concerned shea producers. These needs are both environmental protection needs through training and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices, as well as real support needs for the establishment of income-generating activities. Through fair trade, various improvements will be made to the living conditions of women and villages in general, not only through income from shea sales, the development fund and income related to Income Generating Activities which could be developed, in particular breeding activities and various small businesses; poultry farming, the marketing of cereals, etc ... but also practices linked to sustainable agriculture, will allow a better preservation of the health of the population in general, through the abandonment of the use of herbicides , pesticides and synthetic chemical fertilizers. The application of these sustainable practices by the populations will guarantee agricultural production that will lead to the protection of human and animal health and the protection of the environment. Through democratic governance, while taking into account the local context, women shea producers find themselves in a situation contributing to their socio-economic empowerment.
