Certification for fair trade and responsible supply chains
Impact, special achievements & commitmentsFor our organization, Fair Trade is marketing based on dialogue, transparency and respect, which seeks greater equity in trade to achieve changes in the rules and practices of conventional marketing, which contributes to a comprehensive development for the well being and respect for the uses and customs of the Community, the environment and the current legal system.

In 2013, our organization began its activities as the Consortium of the Accidental Association of Collectors of Amazonian Chestnut, “El Chorro”. This legal figure allowed us to obtain the Fair Trade certification and to participate in a network of Amazon chestnut suppliers with Fair Trade certification required by the companies: TAHUAMANU S.A (Bolivia) and INTERSNACK (Netherlands). After having obtained good results from that commercial relationship, such as the agreed purchase and sale prices and the obtaining of the Fair Trade premium, as an organization we decided to process the Legal Status as the Association of Collectors of Amazonian Chestnut “El Chorro”.

It is important to note that when the Fair Trade Premium was obtained, our organization promoted transparent proposals for the correct use of the Prize.
