Certification for fair trade and responsible supply chains
Impact, special achievements & commitmentsGrapos was created on August 8, 2007, with 100% of small producers, so that through the organization social and economic development can be generated for them through production and exportation of certified coffee of good quality that allows them to be competitive in national and international markets.
The organization represents small coffee producers, most of them from remote communities in cities where access to communication and transportation are very difficult to obtain. Thanks to the Fair Trade Certification, the organization's partner producers have been able to increase the quality of the product, the productivity of their coffee plantations by renovating their plots, selling the product at a better price and not having to transport it over long distances. To be able to market it, all this contributes to improving the quality of life and for producers to see their plots as profitable businesses.
The organization has been growing thanks to the good work that has been done, the support provided to the producer, such as technical assistance, plants to renew coffee trees affected by rust and other diseases of the crop, distribution of tools for field work, support for planting plants for renovation of coffee plantations, among other projects. We continue to work to ensure that the organization's partners and its workers have greater opportunities to improve their quality of life.
