![]() | Impact, special achievements & commitments | ![]() | ![]() | Alaffia’s fair trade/social activities began literally when our organization was founded in May 2003. We created our organization and its two-part structure based on the principles of fair trade and social business. Alaffia’s goal is to alleviate poverty and encourage gender equality through fair trade of indigenous resources. Our social premium community projects were included in our initial business plan and structure and continue today. Alaffia believes investing in our communities is our moral responsibility and is necessary to ensure African resources empower African communities. Our Empowerment Programs include several Education-Based Projects, Maternal Health, FGM Eradication, Eyeglasses and Reforestation. Alaffia empowers Togolese communities to provide their skills and knowledge to the rest of the world and rise out of poverty. As of the end of 2020, our successes include: • 5,597 BIRTHS FUNDED • 10,817 BIKES DISTRIBUTED• 99,964 TREES PLANTED• 37,521 STUDENTS SUPPORTED• 16 SCHOOLS BUILT | ||||
