| Impact, actions & engagements remarquables | | | Kentaste Products Limited is the largest virgin coconut oil processing company in Kenya operating in the Coastal region of Kenya. Our commercial activities have a positive impact on the environment, its employees and the surrounding rural communities. Our commitment to our farmers goes beyond adherence to organic and fair-trade principles, it’s based on a belief in partnership and mutual success. We work with over 236 permanent employees, and a network of 1900 contracted organic and fair trade trained farmers in 43 villages. Our vision is to expand our family of farmers deeper and beyond Kwale County. In order to achieve the positive impact, every invoice issued to our virgin coconut oil customers includes a Fair Trade premium which enables us to pay 5% into a Fair Trade fund which is managed by a committee of farmers, employees and management. Kentaste Products employees coordinate the projects to ensure that the premium is used meaningfully and efficiently. Some projects, such as supply of school furniture to schools, coconut seedling programs, health insurance among others have so far been done. | ||||
