Certification for fair trade and responsible supply chains [fr]
Impact, actions & engagements remarquablesViña Santa Ema is a family business, where ensuring the welfare of its collaborators is a fundamental requirement for the development of its production processes. It is for this reason, that for 5 years they have decided to voluntarily join the FFL certification, to follow the principles of corporate social responsibility that are applied at international level, mainly in the European Union, and with that demonstrate the fulfillment of high quality standards work that they maintain in the company. The social impact of Fair for Life certification in their community has been positive, as workers feel comfortable in their work and this is demonstrated by the conformity in the treatment and the percentage of waivers are minimal. Its main achievements at the corporate level are those aimed at improving the well-being of the workforce, including good work practices, internal grievance procedure, sexual harassment procedure, transparency in business relations, worker bonuses, health care programs, entertainment programs, competition programs, environmental education, promotion of energy efficiency, etc. While it has been a bit difficult to incorporate the Fair for Life as a concept of life for their workers, they strive every day to strengthen that weakness by explaining daily what FFL certification is and how they can contribute to the community.
Use of Fair Trade PremiumViña Santa Ema has a Fair Trade Committee, elected through voting by its collaborators. This Committee makes decisions regarding the use of the fair trade premium. They have not yet decided which projects they will realize with this premium.
