The Union of producer groups for shea products in Comoé (UGPPK / COMOE) was created in 2009, its goal is to improve the living conditions of its members. From 2016, it is engaged in the collection and processing of organic shea kernels through 3 shea parks around Banfora (Cascades Region). About 30 tonnes of almonds were collected and processed in 2016 and more than 60 tonnes in 2017 (mid-term). Organic butter is sold to L'OCCITANE in France on the basis of a sustainable partnership (FFL). The UGPPK / Comé is very active in the field of environmental protection: in 2015, women planted 600 karite seedlings in their shea plants. They participate very actively in the awareness campaigns of populations living next to the forests classified on the good practices of exploitation of the non-wood forest products (NWFP). The harvest of shea nuts goes from early June to late August and the production of shea butter from October to January. The processing of organic butter and FFL is currently taking place in 2 production centers located in the city of Banfora.
L'Union des groupements de productrices des produits du karité dans la Comoé (UGPPK/COMOE) a été créée en 2009, elle a pour but d'oeuvre à l'amélioration des conditions de vie de ses membres. A partir de 2016, elle s’est engagée dans la collecte et la transformation des amandes de karité biologique à travers 3 parcs à karité autour de Banfora (Région des cascades). Une trentaine de tonnes d’amandes ont été collectées et transformées en 2016 et plus de 60 tonnes en 2017 (à mi parcours). Le beurre bio est vendu à L'OCCITANE en France sur la base d'un partenariat durable (FFL). L’UGPPK/Comé est très active dans le domaine de la sauvegarde de l’environnement : en 2015, les femmes ont planté 600 plants de karités dans leurs parcs à karité. Elles participent très activement aux campagnes de sensibilisation des populations riveraines des forêts classées sur les bonnes pratiques d’exploitation des produits forestiers non ligneux (PFNL). La récolte des noix de karité va de début juin à fin août et la production du beurre de karité d'octobre à janvier. La transformation du beurre bio et FFL a lieu actuellement dans 2 centres de production situés dans la ville de Banfora. |
