| Impact, special achievements & commitments | | | Everest Gateway Herbs Pvt. Ltd (EGHPL) established in 2004 is a consortium of shareholders from 7 community forestry user groups (30% of the share), pro-poor members of the community forestry user groups (25 % of the share), local level traders (25 % of the share) and private sector entrepreneurs (20 % of the share). The organigram of EGHPL comprises of the executive committee (11 members), company manager, 5 contractors for managing the raw materials collectors and 3 contractors for the production management of handmade paper sheets. EGHPL was established with the aim of value addition of locally available raw materials and providing economic and social benefits to the poor households of the forest depended community. EGHPL sells all its production (handmade paper sheets) to Himalayan Bio Trade Pvt. Ltd (HBTL) which is finally purchased by Aveda Corp for its intended use for packaging holidays items. It is Aveda Corp who initiated both HBTL and EGHPL to be For Life-Social Responsibility certified since 2015. EGHPL obtained FL certification after audit in 2017. EGHPL has a long term vision of sourcing raw materials from all over Dolakha and adjoining areas and expansion of handmade paper production quantity. | ||||
