Herbes de Tunisie is the only company established in the olive-growing area of Mansoura (Governorate of Siliana) where the olive tree grows on poor marginal soils with low profitability and constitutes the only source of income for producers. The company had already engaged in organic-fair trade since 2009, first with ESR and with Fair for Life until 2017. From 2019, it opted for For Life standard. In this strategy, Herbes de Tunisie has engaged with a small group of producers and has worked for their structuring within an association called Association Nour for the development of the olive tree in Mansoura with the objective of improving their income and the living conditions of its employees and the local community. Since its commitment, the company has continued to support producers by offering them encouraging purchase prices and providing them with technical assistance, and has financed important social and development actions at the local level, including in particular the creation of a kindergarten, a canteen, means of transport and accommodation for staff. In addition, Herbes de Tunisie complies with the social and environmental requirements of the For Life standard and works to guarantee consumers high quality extra virgin oil.
Herbes de Tunisie est la seule entreprise installée dans la zone oléicole de Mansoura (Gouvernorat de Siliana) où l'olivier pousse sur des sols marginaux pauvres et à faible rentabilité et constitue la seule ressource de revenus des producteurs. L'entreprise s'était déjà engagée dans le bioéquitable depuis 2009, d'abord dans l'ESR puis dans le FFL jusqu'en 2017. A partir de 2019, elle a opté pour le For Life. Dans cette stratégie, Herbes de Tunisie s'est engagé avec un petit groupe de producteurs et a oeuvré pour leur structuration au sein d'une association dénommée Association Nour pour le développement de l'olivier à Mansoura dans l'objectif d'améliorer leurs revenus et les conditions de vie de ses salariés et de la communauté locale. Depuis son engagement , l'entreprise ne cesse d'appuyer les producteurs en leur offrant des prix d'achat encourageants et en leur apportant de l'assistance technique, et a financé d'importantes actions sociales et de développement à l'échelle locale dont notamment la création d'un jardin d'enfants, d'une cantine, de moyens de transport et de logements pour le personnel. Par ailleurs, Herbes de Tunisie respecte les exigences du référentiel FL sur les plans social et environnemental et oeuvre pour garantir au consommateur de l'huile extra vierge de haute qualité. |
