Social Impact
Social Impact & Special AchievementsThe Earthoil Africa EPZ Ltd processing factories are owned by the Earthoil Kenya Producer Group. The group presently consists of 553 smallholder farmers who produce tea tree leaves, palmarosa and geranium leaves. The benefits of Fair Trade reach the farmers, their workers and the whole community through the social projects from the Fair Trade fund.
Secondary school scholarships are provided for marginalized children. Since the beginning of the project 7 children have been given scholarships to attend the 4 year secondary school program.
In 2013 a premium investment has been made to buy a 2.8 acre piece of land with the objective of building a Social Hall.
The plot is in one of the poorest regions where farmers are scattered with few facilities available. The Social Hall will provide a place to meet and educate and also serve as a base for a doctor.

Earthoil Africa with tea tree, intends to give the farmers a stable source of income – this is by providing them with all the tools and support necessary for growing their crop, together with a secure market and a stable price. It is expected that the benefits of the project not only reach the producers themselves, but also their workers and the whole community by following all the criteria established in the policy regarding working conditions and Fair Trade Development Premium administration.
Use of Fair Trade PremiumThe Premium Fund Decision Comittee KOOFA decided for the funds to be spend for the building of a community hall. It can in the future be used for holding medical camps, training community students on computer classes, as library for community and holding meetings on literacy classes, entrepreneurship trainingsand others.
