Social Impact
Social Impact & Special AchievementsCommunities beyond their own immediate geography on each decision and action they make. Alaffia was created as a way for Africans to directly participate in reducing poverty conditions, as this is fundamental to the success of their communities. Fair working conditions, fair pay and fair treatment of producer communities form the base of this success. Their growth and achievements to date are a testament to their mission and the efforts of their communities in West Africa and the USA.
Use of Fair Trade PremiumAlaffia has engaged in many different premium projects from which all group members can benefit. The manifold projects are for instance providing bicycles for children to get to school more easily, fostering maternal health, donating school supplies for children, distributing eyeglasses and fostering reforestation. For detailed information on premium use, please refer to the report on premium administration by GACE.
