Social Impact & Special AchievementsSFC has made a social impact with Fair for Life certification through increasing the safety of the processing centres and ensuring a fair and beneficial partnership with suppliers. The program is reaching shea butter processors in rural Ghana, bringing Fair for Life certified value addition at source. Enhances groups production and profitability through fair-trade partners such as supporting groups by putting up structures at the processing centres, providing equipments for efficient shea butter production at centres, connection of water to processing centres, sponsoring producers to international shea conferences and paying extra bonuses for shea butter orders produced by the groups in addition to the market prices.
Use of Fair Trade PremiumPremium used to upgrade processing centres for central production and also upgrade centres to organic standards for organic certification. This includes constructing additional rooms and sheds; purchasing additional pieces of equipment (roasters, kneaders) and utensils (basins, ladles, etc) to increase productivity; constructing of water reservoirs and purchasing polytanks for stable water supply.
