Social Impact
Social Impact & Special AchievementsRAPUNZEL Naturkost is one of the leading processors and distributors of high–quality organic food products in Germany. The organic food ingredients and products are sourced from approximately 300 suppliers from around the world. The product range comprises more than 550 RAPUNZEL brand name products such as muesli, nut spreads, dried fruits etc.

Rapunzel focuses on establishing direct and long-term commercial relationships with its suppliers.
The Rapunzel HAND IN HAND fair trade program was established in 1992. HAND IN HAND suppliers in Central and South America, in Africa and Asia produce organic food ingredients and products based on the Rapunzel fair trade criteria. The long-term cooperation with Rapunzel enables the suppliers to make long-term investment plans, and the farmers to perform sustainable organic agriculture which allows them to make a living. The HAND IN HAND program including Rapunzel’s fair trade practices is audited and certified biannually by IMO.

In addition, Rapunzel procures organic palm oil from Ecuador that is certified according to the Fair for Life standard. With the Fair for Life trader certification Rapunzel is actively developing the market for organic and fair trade palm oil products. This way, Rapunzel helps to improve the living conditions of the palm oil farmers and workers as well as the development of the surrounding communities.
