Social Impact
Social Impact & Special AchievementsFrom the beginning of the activities the company has generated a great impact in the communities surrounding their operations. Among these they can mention:
- Supporting the installation of 4 schools for more than 214 children in five communities. Children and young people from 5 to 17 years old should be in school, and perform well to be part of the training. With this they are fomenting discipline and empowerment in the new generation of young people who live in the neighboring communities.
- There have been more than 100 medical visits in their medical offices, and with their doctor for producers and communities they have made more than 40 visits to ensure that communities are trained in topics of preventive medicine.
- They have conducted 20 sessions of environmental education and basic knowledge of ecosystem protection through waste management practices in 5 communities.
- Agreement with the Vargas Technical University for environmental education.
- Agreement with Fundación Verde Ventura for the development of programs to re-establish and promote biodiversity in communities.
- Environmental and labor regularization program for organic palm producers. They have two professionals who have obtained environmental records and non-transition certificates from the Ministry of the environment for all producers.
- Program for the identification of ecosystems and endangered species for organic palm producers, signaling and programs to encourage biodiversity in the area for all producers.
- Support with a computer and printer to the school next to the extractor.
- Design of an English language education and empowerment program for schools in the sector.
- Support of two teachers in the School Republic of Panama.
Use of Fair Trade PremiumThe Fair trade funds have been used to develop projects chosen by the members assembly of the associations. The company allocates 1% of its sales to development activities that benefit producers, communities and employees.
