Certification for fair trade and responsible supply chains
Impact, special achievements & commitmentsStellar believes in creating and maintaining long-term relationships with the primary producers to insure that sustainable quality product be delivered to the buyers and that the standards of Fair for life be pulled in throughout the community. The Central Joint Body consists of representatives of each estate. This Body administers and decides on Fair Trade premium usage. This is the Central Joint Body's main function. All previously disadvantaged workers that work within Stellar Winery Multi-Estate, through Stellar Empowerment Trust, hold a 44.7% share in Stellar Winery (Pty) Ltd. The producer/owner of the estate is compensated with prices higher than market related prices paid in the area. The cellar and producer decide on a right price to compensate both parties and then signs off the prices for the grapes of the year.
