Social Impact
Social Impact & Special AchievementsAmfri offers employment to anyone and works with all communities throughout their operations. Farmers can be contacted from any region irrespective of where they are. Until now, no Fair Trade sales have started yet, but Amfi nevertheless supports the local communities by engaging in community projects on a needs basis. Permanent projects are the support for two schools where the company supports the feeding for the children through farming projects. Additionally, Amfri Farms Ltd. donated land at the farm to two schools, a mosque and three churches.
The company has recently partnered with red cross Uganda and provides staff to Red cross to help support their human resource. Additionally, Amfri staff cleans the local community every two weeks.
In order to spread the word for organic and socially responsible farming operations and to offer people the possibility to learn about these topics, Amfri opens its doors to the public at no charge.
The latest activity of Amfri was the implementation of a piggy bank. It was set to raise funds which will be matched by Amfri farms 50% contribution and this will help to support deworming children in primary schools all over the country. This activity will be done once a year.
Use of Fair Trade PremiumCompany has allocated 2% of total sale for own expenditure of social activities. The money is released on demand.
